Hiroshima Television Corporation (HTV) is a television station headquartered in Hiroshima city, where the first atomic bomb in human history was dropped. It was established around 60 years ago and since then we have been reporting on the horrors of what nuclear weapons bring to humankind.
Now, HTV has so many documentaries about what happened on August 6th, 1945, that we want to share how people have suffered because of the bomb with educational institutions around the world.
In order to remake them as “teaching materials”, we received help from the Hiroshima city Board of Education. Together we created the points listed below for peace education.
We hope many people will make use of these “audio-visual teaching materials for peace education.”

Hibakusha, the bomb-survivors, are getting older and older. Now, only a few people have the experience and memories from that day. Therefore, we, the citizens and children of Hiroshima, have an important role. We must learn what really happened in Hiroshima on August 6th, 1945, and hand it down to the next generation.
